i’d say this thesis was a year in the making but we all know i wrote most of it in the last two weeks • this project started off as a joke about how i could write a whole thesis about why i think lady gaga is a drag artist and 19,700 words later, i proved that and then some. • thank you to everyone who made this possible - particularly my amazing advisors who guided my research and my incredible friends who encouraged me, fed me, and helped me proofread/edit. i couldn’t have done this without y’all. • i really went to harvard to study lady gaga and beyonce lmaooo and honestly, i couldn’t be more proud of myself. pop culture is important and deserves a space in the academy. don’t ever let someone tell you that what you want to work on or study isn’t important or relevant or doesn’t matter. yes it is and yes it does.
