If you see me and I don’t speak like that, it prolly ain’t what you think, I just be thinkin bout some REAL s***.. When I got my MBA in Engineering & Tech Development, it won’t to go run it up for a corporate office, it was so that people from my culture could easily access someone with a deep knowledge of business, without feeling like they getting talked over or taken advantage of.. Now I got the streets looking at me like shii sweet for graduating from William & Mary, and them suits looking at me like a n**** from Newport News 🤷🏽‍♂️.. I read a recent stat about only 0.4% percent of venture capital funding going to black entrepreneurs, I thought the number was fake.. For a long time, I was afraid to speak my truth out of fear of being ostracized in those corporate buildings, but one thing this number lets me know, is that there are way MORE diverse founders who likely share the same experience as me. Put On is built for the people, it will only live on with the support of the people.. I’m just tasked with creating the foundation for it to exist.
