The last time I felt this way was when I saw Black Panther...but this is much bigger and more important for black women of all ages to see. #TheWomanKing is a masterful movie that successfully brings to life so many different layers and nuances that are crucial for my community to see and understand. Yes the fight scenes are incredible, and the bravado and determination is unmatched-but this movie will help change the way black women, women of colour and people in general see themselves. The story centres mostly around black people, but the energy can and should resonate with everyone who loves top tier cinema. I feel compelled to contribute to the success of this movie and will definitely yell from the mountain tops that YOU MUST watch this film.
