I was very sad to hear of the passing of Mikhail Gorbachev, especially at a time like this, when Russia has turned away from so many of the positive ideas he had introduced. I had the honor of meeting him several times and learned from a true living legend about how he brought the Cold War to a peaceful end, truly changing the course of history. We have lost a towering global leader, committed multilateralist, and tireless advocate for peace. The world needs leaders and visionaries like him now more than ever. RIP, Mikhail Gorbachev
