Dads are like chocolate chip cookies; they may have chips or be totally nutty, but they are sweet and make the world a better place. I grew up with my father mostly slogging his ass on the ship for 6 to 8 months at a stretch and then leaving within 4 to 5 months again, so we both missed quite a few years spending time together but he still made up by always getting me back Lego sets which were the Pinnacle of my childhood. And then I entered my teens and Just like any hot blooded teen, I was rebellious and often didn’t see eye to eye with him. But as I grew up I understood him more and more understanding the sacrifices he made for my sister and my future. The funny thing is that I now behave like the adult, all grown up and he behaves like the teenager where my friends basically prefer hanging out with him over me! 😂😂 but I have only gratitude over the bond we now share as best friends.
