History: How 20 Dutch engineers built Juba Bridge in two months in 1974 20 Dutch engineers and technicians built Juba Bridge across the mighty river Nile in Juba, South Sudan in a record two months in 1974. They worked twelve hours a day, seven days a week in very high temperatures to build it on schedule. To ensure they were well hydrated, each drank nine litres of purified Nile river water a day. The bridge was constructed by funds donated by Netherlands to ensure relief aid reached one million refugees left homeless in southern Sudan following The Anyanya civil war. All the construction materials were ferried from Mombasa, Kenya. Credit: Odhiambo Levin Opiyo#southsudanesetiktokers🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸❤
