I don’t know who needs to hear this but.... Your client doesn’t hate you just because they canceled their appointment! Summer can be rough AND we’re in a recession. We have to remember the services we provide are a LUXURY and some people’s (a lot of people’s) priorities are changing. THAT’S OK!!! They aren’t canceling because they hate you! Things happen, priorities change! If they cancel without reaching out, why don’t you check in and see if they’d like to reschedule! That follow up can make all the difference! When things slow down for me, I can’t deny that I don’t get a little down sometimes. But I remind myself that it’s ok and it won’t last forever. Often times, it’s when I’m feeling like I actually need a break. And while I’d much rather be busy making money, I’m grateful for extra time on my hands. Here are some of the ways I use my down time: - Taking a break and actually going home to relax - Starting a creative project I wouldn’t normally have time for; hair related or not. - Eat! - Running errands I’d have to do on my day off - Organizing/ cleaning my salon - Sitting down and doing nothing; literally. - Watching or Reading educational content.
