Fuck The Law (25). The Promenade, Kalbarri 2023 . My hardest and proudest send in my climbing journey so far. For the first three days of the trip I had fallen off during the crux sequence at the top every time. I had dialed in every move to what I thought was perfection (you can see my eyes pinging around) and was convinced I just needed more training and endurance. I had even started preparing myself for the self hatred on the 6 hour drive back home from Kalbarri 😆 . At 4pm on the final day, I had my final attempt. My all time favourite band Blink-182 had dropped a new single after a decade - Dance With Me - which I played to give me a boost of energy. This time, during the crux I sank down just an inch lower than previous attempts (the main photo), which made the tiny difference needed for me to finish the climb, even though I was fatigued from 3 days of climbing. I didn’t need more endurance training at all. When I got to the top I went from happy and giddy to letting out a primal scream of relief. But as any climber knows, it only took 5 minutes for me to ask myself the question “alright what’s next” . Thank you @davebarretto , @therealjasonager, Bastion and @blink182
