“My husband and I are first generation Indian Americans. We were taught the importance of blending both the American and Indian cultures into our lives. We wanted to showcase that blend throughout our 5 day wedding week. We got married on May 21, 2022 in Washington, D.C. We met with our priest beforehand to remove the patriatrical and antiquated rituals from our Hindu wedding ceremony. Indian weddings are known for their extravagance and yet the majority of them often look and feel the same. As a user experience designer, I paid attention to the branding, colors, florals, and design details to help transform our venue, The Anthem. The Anthem is a concert venue that has never hosted a wedding before!
