Microplastics, tiny pieces of plastic less than five millimetres in size, are consumed at various levels of the marine food chain and eventually make their way onto your dinner plate or food court bento box. Despite their small size, microplastics still retain additives such as flame retardants, plasticizers, pigments, and UV stabilizers.
