⁣🇮🇹Giuseppe Momo è stato l’architetto di fiducia di Papa Pio XI. ⠀⠀ ⠀ 🐌 Fiore all’occhiello della sua carriera dentro le Mura Leonine fu la scala d’ingresso ai #MuseiVaticani, oggi utilizzata come discesa verso l’uscita. La scala è un concentrato di innovazione: dalla copertura in vetro alle due rampe a spirale sovrapposte e distinte. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🚪Autore del portale di ingresso in travertino e del portone metallico fu invece lo scultore Pietro Melandri. ⠀ ⠀ 🎨Allo scultore Antonio Maraini, uno degli astri del ventennio, si devono invece i quattro bassorilievi in pietra serena che ornano l’androne, rappresentanti le personificazioni della pittura, della scultura, dell’architettura e della letteratura. ⠀ ⠀ 🎗Il complesso della scala e del nuovo ingresso fu inaugurato alla presenza di Pio XI, promotore dell’impresa, il 7 dicembre del 1932.⠀ ⠀ ——⠀ ⠀ 🌎Giuseppe Momo was an architect who was trust by Pope Pius XI. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🐌 The jewel in the crown of his career was the entrance #staircase to the #VaticanMuseums, which is now used as a way to exit.
