Once upon a time all I cared about was baseball. It's all I wanted to do and it's all I thought I would ever do in this world. It filled my childhood with endless memories, paid for my college degree, allowed me to see a lot of the US, and taught me a ton of life lessons. When I got drafted to play professionally I thought my destiny was being fulfilled, but 4 years later I was done playing and found myself in need of a new path in life. When I think back to my last year playing I realize I wasn't happy. The game I loved so much suddenly seemed more like a job and most of the fun had been taken out of it. I still loved the game but the spark was gone. I was lost for a short time after that, but fortunately I quickly learned that there was so much more to life. I realized the possibilities are endless (especially now with the internet) and we really do have control over our own destinies. I guess the moral of the story here is that there are infinite paths we all can take, and happiness is the key at the end of the day. If you're stuck in a rut or think that your life is going nowhere, just remember you have the power to change it. We all have more power than we know. And for the record, I still love baseball :)
