Two years ago today, @kristenwilkinsonphotography and I met before dawn at Friendship Harbor, to photograph what is arguably one of the most picturesque working fishing harbors in Maine. It was a beautiful morning with a soft, pastel sunrise. I already had an idea of what I wanted that day, before I even got there. I wanted something that told the story of the lobstermen who labored out of this harbor. Maybe a dinghy used to transport them to their boat, or some gear left on the dock. As soon as I got there I knew it was going to be a good day. This pile of buoys and line were just waiting for me. I quickly went to work and as the sun came up, I made this image.
