Headed over to central Turkey to visit the Fairy Chimney’s of Cappadocia. This small region is filled with some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. You can spend your days exploring ruins, valleys filled with natural wonders, and nights sleeping in charming cave rooms. I would highly recommend splurging to take a sunrise balloon ride, the views are breathtaking. We took a day trip to the city of Konya to pay our respects to “The Great Poet”, Rumi. In Konya Mevlânâ is more than just a poet but rather a teacher who wrote the Masnavi, weaving the teachings of the Quran into a rich mosaic of storytelling, music, song, and dance. Before paying respects to Rumi, we were told—per his request—to visit his teacher Shams of Tabrizi’s memorial. Of course we couldn’t leave Konya without seeing the wondrous rugs of this region... but more about that in a post to come! I hope this encourages everyone to visit this part of Turkey -Eyvallah
