This one hurts. I first met Jimmy Caan when @alanakstewart sat us next to each other at her birthday party almost 20 years ago. He was hilarious from the first moment I met him. He said, “Is this where they sit the Jews and Armenians?” I was honored to call him a friend ever since. He was old school & liked that I was old school too for a younger guy. I found out that we had a bunch of mutual friends & I learned he loved his family, he was a rodeo star, crushed golf balls at the country club with our mutual buddies & he was named Italian of the Year ... twice. I have two other memories that I will cherish. One night, he saw me at a restaurant from far away, came over, and gave me a bear hug in front of the guests at my table. He made me feel like a made man in front of someone who is impossible to impress. Another time, at a coffee shop, when he could tell I was upset about something, he said, “What are you gonna do? Nice college boy...” I could not stop laughing. My favorite line. He probably said that to a million people over the years, but it was the perfect line to me at the perfect moment. I regret that I didn’t have a chance to see him over the past few years. He was a class act. Rest In Peace Jimmy. I am sending love & prayers to his family & friends 💔🙏🏼
