SÃO PAULO On the occasion of “Sedimentar,” Marina Rheingantz’s solo exhibition currently on view at Galpão, the artist was interviewed by Ocula’s Rory Mitchell. Read the excerpt below and the full interview at the link in bio. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “This seems quite a monumental show for you in terms of scale and there also must be something quite personal about showing in your hometown. How do you feel about this show? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When working towards “Sedimentar’, I tried not to think too much about how the exhibition would look as a whole. Instead, I focused on the different processes of each individual painting and how they demonstrate an amalgamation of landscape and tapestry in one composition. Several of the paintings in the exhibition were made on a vast scale and are some of the biggest works I’ve ever made, so that was a really exciting experience.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The exhibition can be visited until December 21st. Como você se sente sobre a mostra? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Quando eu estava trabalhando em “Sedimentar”, tentei não pensar demais sobre como a exposição ficaria como um todo. Tentei me concentrar sobre os processos de cada pintura individual, em como elas apresentam um amálgama de paisagem e tapeçaria numa composição só. Várias das pinturas na exposição foram feitas numa escala vasta, são alguns dos maiores trabalhos que já fiz, foi uma experiência muito instigante. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Visite a exposição até o dia 21 de dezembro.
