Best of Bornholm. A dreamy few days on this Danish island getaway in the Baltic. The weather was spectacular (my favorite: sunny, mild, sweater with shorts temps) and the @nordlandet was simply perfect. A beautiful room, lots of terrace time with an ever-changing view, great people, food, hospitality. Loved the brisk morning plunges into the hotel “pool”. Had one of the best dining experiences ever at @restaurantkadeau, with wonderfully inventive food and front row view to the sea, from sunset to full moonrise. We frequented many of the local røgeri/fish smokehouses for lunch, found a pop-up for my favorite tinned fish, paid visits to the local ceramic and glass artists, wandered through many of the charming, vividly hued villages, had the most delicious cardamom ice cream-with-a-view, wandered the ruins of one of the largest medieval castles in Northern Europe, and watched the Tour de Denmark pass right by our hotel. Bornholm truly is heaven. I can’t thank my friends @sarahmullertz and @mikkel.hammershoj enough for their generous and specific recommendations. We followed them to the letter and I am so grateful.
