My Mother’s nursing school graduation photo. She was 20 years old, the youngest person in her class. She started at a tiny hospital in Cosmos Minnesota. She retired from Abbott Northwestern Hospital Labor & Delivery 45 years later. She was so dedicated & proud to be a nurse. During her career she helped 1000s of women labor and birth their babies, counseled, listened, laughed and cried with her colleagues and patients. She guided new nurses and spoke lovingly at many retirement parties. She was also an advocate for change and walked the picket line for nurses right. When she did retire she became a volunteer for the Red Cross. I am so proud of her and miss her every day. #nurses our heroines throughout history #NationalNursesWeek #NursesareallHeart
