The warm and fuzzy amorphous characters from @m.suksu (Miguel Cruz) embody a strong emotional and sensory charge. “Although I have been drawing since I was a child, I’ve only recently considered using the label of illustrator to introduce myself. I don’t usually work on sketches. I’m a bit anxious, so I like to start and finish a piece in the same day, usually at night. Meditation has helped me at a given moment to stabilize my emotions and objectives in what I want to show. I try to transfer that moment of temperance in most of my work.” Miguel’s delightful, psychedelic dreamscapes are light, airy and transcendental. “I have a recurrent inclination towards existential drama, which are the ones that ironically star my amorphous characters with almost childish faces.
