Part 1/3 🎥 It’s been two years since I’ve had the motivation and opportunity to create another project of this magnitude. I. AM. GRATEFUL to each of the 22 phenomenally-gifted crew members and the 12 brilliantly-talented cast members in this picture that showed up and showed out this weekend! My Dad was busy running errands and Ms. Staci, Mr. Betts & Genesis, only worked Day 1. 💪🏾 I am beyond thankful that each of you, plus our 44 family, friends donors, @YoungArts grant saw something special enough in my story to jump on board, lending your precious time, expertise, talents & money! 🙏🏾 Even when sleep deprivation kicked in, you trusted my vision and passion, found a second wind and persevered! 😆🥂 This story, ALL IN, has been brewing inside of me, since the extreme isolation endured during COVID, not finding my village at college, and losing my Grandmother, followed by my Uncle. Not being able to create on a level in which I had grown accustomed, kicked me into a deeper depression than I realized. Taking a semester off Spring 2022, helped me to regroup, refocus, re-energize and WRITE, WRITE and WRITE, some more! Witnessing your work ethic, getting out of my comfort zone, reaching out and building relationships via our casual DMs, getting screenplay notes and feedback and eventually, hand selecting and inviting each of you to crew up and play with me, was not ideal, but proved to be an amazing and therapeutic process! The amount of collective talent witnessed over the weekend, has set a whole new level of excellence for me, and there’s no turning back! 💥 Meeting and collaborating with each of you, has been a JOY I haven’t felt in quite some time, and for that I feel blessed, restored and renewed. THANK YOU for not just being a part of this magical project that we made over the weekend, but for being such great humans... and my new family! 💕👊🏾 I absolutely can NOT wait to see the fruits of our labor on the big screen, and have a great time celebrating at our private premiere!
