Legendary musician and producer Kenny Vance makes his directorial debut with Heart & Soul, a revelatory feature documentary produced by Bronwyn Berry (Love, Gilda) that chronicles the cultural impact, and often unheralded contributions, of pioneering young artists from the 50s, and 60s who helped shape the trajectory of American rock, R&B, and pop. The film world premieres in New York City at the Dances with Films festival on Sunday, Dec 4th at 7:30 pm at the Regal Union Square. Audiences will gain an understanding of the era that birthed unforgettable music, still piercing popular culture today, as Vance reflects with friends, collaborators, and peers––rhythm and blues, rock, pop and Doo-Wop artists–– that broke mainstream molds, like the Chantels, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers (Why Do Fools Fall in Love), Little Anthony & the Imperials, the Heartbeats, the Dubs, and the Jive Five. https://vimeo.com/773046725 @danceswithfilms @kennyvanceandtheplanotones
