December 3rd is the International Day of People with Disabilities. As an organization dedicated to inclusivity in all of its forms, Pride Toronto proudly supports this day for raising awareness and strategies for building a more inclusive world for people living with disabilities. This year, the day is focused on the theme of innovation - innovation for building a more inclusive workplace for people with disabilities, and innovation for reducing inequality faced by people with disabilities. People with disabilities face tremendous barriers to everyday engagement that many of us take for granted, and innovative and transformative solutions are needed to help overcome these barriers. The International Day of People with Disabilities gives all of us the opportunity to increase our understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of people with disabilities.
