Was it worth the 2 hour wait? 📍@fourkings San Francisco, CA Yes and no. The vibes were spot on with classic Cantonese songs playing in the background and the walls plastered with posters of legendary Cantonese singers. The food included some of the best Cantonese recipes we have tried in San Francisco whereas some did not pass my Canto boyfriend’s high standard. While some of these classic recipes impressed us, we personally would not wait 2 hours again or dine at an odd Resy hour. So let’s dive into the food: 🐤 Fried Squab ($45): Their most iconic dish served with toasted salt and pepper was so delicious! It reminds of us an artisanal roast duck 🍚 Claypot Rice with Chinese Sausage and Bacon ($26): Very HO SEK! My boyfriend still dreams about this dish and you must scrape all of the crispy bits at the bottom 🐌XO Escargot with Milk Bread ($24): A modest portion for a lot of flavor! We wish there was more 🐷Chili Crisp Pig Head ($12): It was good but if you’re looking to spare your wallet some damage, you can skip this! 🦀 Typhoon Shelter Soft Shell Crab (~$36) 避风塘软壳蟹 You can skip this dish! It was not our favorite rendition. The name of this Hong Kong inspired bar originates from the Four Kings of Hong Kong’s entertainment industry: Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai, and Aaron Kwok.
