I lost my dad at the start of the pandemic and the last 2 years since has been nothing short of a nightmare. While the world became still, some people had the opportunity to sit with themselves, discover parts of who they were becoming, learn new skills etc, and I spent the last 2 years drowning with no one to throw me a life line. In addition to that, just losing the sole provider in an immigrant household is a difficulty that is unimaginable for most, so I’m here asking for help. I’m asking for help from my DJ community, my music industry community, my black women community, my Atlanta and Toronto community, our family needs you more than ever. Over the next few weeks I’ll be introducing different initiatives that you can support by donating, purchasing services or merely just sharing this message. We have until June 1st to square away my father’s debts in order to keep our home. My mom is working diligently with the bank to see if there is a way that this date can be extended but in the mean time, I will be spending every waking moment until then to save my fathers home and finally bring some peace back into our lives.
