ribena highball { mezcal , ribena black currant ginger lemon soda} @calvinhungry really wanted to incorporate Ribena in the bar program at @bonniesbrooklyn because it is such a big part of Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng culture. Ribena is actually a blackcurrant drink from the UK. It made its way to HK through colonization and has been a staple part of HK diners. For this cocktail I was heavily influenced by the classic cocktail El Diablo (tequila, cassis, ginger, lime and soda). We are rimming the glass with Blue Spirulina, salt, citric acid, msg, and sugar mixture. The drink has a rubyish purple color.
