Happy 826 Day! Join us today in celebrating our staff, volunteers, and most of all, our students! The 826 Network was founded by author Dave Eggers and educator Ninive Calegari in 2002, and 826NYC opened its doors in 2004. Today, there are chapters in nine cities (New York, San Francisco, LA, Chicago, Ann Arbor/Detroit/Ypsilanti, Boston, DC, New Orleans, and Minneapolis-St. Paul), plus the Network is online at 826 Digital. 826 is the largest youth writing network in the U.S. Each year, over 35K students (in person) and 350K students (online) come to 826 to write their own paths forward, undefined by circumstance. Last year alone, the Network published over 1,000 collections of student writing. Thanks for being a part of our community!
