Everyone tells you that you’re going to meet someone new... but what no one tells you is that you will also meet a new YOU ✨🤍 Having a baby, is the most momentous thing that we can do as people and it really does change us. It changes everything about us, not just our new body, but it changes the way we think, the way we talk and the respect we have for other people. It makes us want to do better, to be better and to be someone that this little person can be proud of. I have definitely changed after each of my four babies, in such different ways. Mason, made me decide that Veterinary Science wasn’t the career for me and I made the swap to becoming a Midwife. He made me realise what was important in the world and helped me to grow alongside him. He showed me that I really had no idea what I was doing but taught me the true meaning of love. Lyla, showed me how hard life is without sleep but how truely special those night time feeds were, as they were one thing that only we could do together. Lyla also showed me that if I worked hard, I could achieve anything in this life, and I hope that this is something that I can teach her to always be your own biggest supporter. Coda, changed me to realise that things don’t always go according to plan as Covid hit and our worlds were turned upside down. He taught me the true value of family and friends. He taught me that Josh being home with the kids was such invaluable and precious time for them, even though it was so hard for me. Wilder, showed me that I need to slow down. That I need to enjoy all those fleeting little moments and forget what anyone else says. Wilder taught me to have a voice, to advocate for myself and my little people - and to shout this from the rooftops!! The person that I am today has been shaped slowly along the way as we have navigated this parenting journey. Having a baby is hard, the nights are long and it can take time to adjust to the new person staring back at you in the mirror and that is OKAY!! It’s time for you to meet the new YOU and lean into what this life has in store for you, you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
