A re-share of an old favorite. This fox, and the images I took of her and her kits mean so much to me. Back when I took this photo, I was still working full time in an office and struggling to find opportunities to photograph wildlife. I found this momma fox and her kits one afternoon in early spring, and proceeded to spend every morning before work and every evening after work trying to find them again. Day after day I would fail, but day after day I would use those fleeting daylight hours to continue searching. Eventually, I found them again. And then I found them more consistently. And then before I knew it, I was finding them so often that I was showing up late to work and inventing excuses to leave early so I could spend more time with my foxes. Everything is so different now. I’ve quit that job and now spend all my time revolving around wildlife - photographing animals, tracking animals, working as a wildlife research tech. Talking nonstop about animals fo anyone who will listen. Forging friendships with people who are just as obsessed with wildlife as me. When I look back at where I started, I truly can’t believe how far I’ve come. I am so grateful for these animals and for the purpose they have given me.
