Today is Stand Up to Cancer Day, a holiday I hold close to my heart. ⁠ ⁠ I lost my grandfather to melanoma, and, not too long ago, my beautiful mother was diagnosed with the same disease. Because we were able to catch it early, she has been able to make a full recovery. For that, I am so thankful. ⁠ ⁠ Melanoma is a deadly form of skin cancer. I cannot stress enough how important it is to protect yourself with sunscreen each and every day. It might seem like a drag, but it’s worth the effort to significantly reduce your risk. ⁠ ⁠ Apart from sunscreen, it is crucial to perform monthly self-checks, AND visit your dermatologist annually for a checkup.
