Six months ago, I was too scared to post consistently. I was trapped in my own head, waiting for the “perfect” moment, thinking my content had to look like everyone else’s. I doubted myself more than I ever should have. Then one morning, I just decided: I’m going for it. I stopped overthinking, stopped waiting, and started showing up for myself. Four months later, I was signed by a talent agency 🥹. I’ve had opportunities I never imagined: speaking on a Black History Month panel with Aritzia, speaking on a panel of Chicago women influencers, sitting at a table with Clinique, attending beautiful events like Black Beauty Club and ShopMy, connecting with incredible people—some of whom I now call my close friends and even getting to go on a group trip to Bali with my followers in 2026! It’s hard to even count the wins, but pausing to reflect, I feel proud of the journey I’ve taken. Little me would be so proud of how far I’ve come. If there’s one thing I want to say to you: don’t sleep on yourself. Don’t wait for the “right time” or compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Whatever your dream is, no matter your circumstances—take the leap. Commit. Show up.
