Last year Collin & I flew over this lake in a tiny plane and I knew I had to find a way to get down there with the packrafts & paddle with these giant icebergs. This adventure was pretty tricky to coordinate but 1000x worth the effort. We took a 15 mile water taxi from town, the driver stopped 200ft from a remote beach (it was too shallow for him to land), so we inflated our packrafts on the boat & hopped right off the back and into the water! Once we hit land, we walked about a mile, dragging the boats behind us until we once again got back into the water for our final stretch of paddle to this wild iceberg filled lake. The whole time I couldn’t stop staring at how perfectly blue the water was & the mind blowing part about these guys is realizing how huge they really are. What you can see above the water is just a fraction of what is below. I’m in awe that places like this exist - this will go down as my very favorite Alaska activity (to date at least 😉)⁣ ⁣ #fulltimetravel #rvlife #nomadlife #homeiswhereyouparkit #fulltimerv #rvliving #travelblogger #lifeontheroad #thealaskalife #sharingalaska #explorealaska #alaskalife #alaskanadventures #anchorage ⁣ #valdezalaska #naturealaska #thelastfrontier⁣ #stayandwanderer #ourcamplife #neverstoptravelling #sheexplores #alaskaphotography #alaskaliving #Alaskaphotographer⁣ #girlswhohike #heralaskalife
