I posted this photo earlier today... but I’m posting it again because I want to be very deliberate about this message. I am a manager of drag queens... I love my clients like they are my children... And I’ve seen so many of them go from being somewhat unknown to being literal superstars overnight. It’s a mindfuck. It’s also happening when these kids are in their 20s or 30s. I can’t imagine having this burden to bear at this young age. Admittedly, I didn’t know @thecherryvalentine very well... But we met last year in London and we made a connection. And I’m looking at my messages with her since then and am feeling so sad because she seemed happy and positive and on an upswing.. We had a very sweet connection that I wish I nurtured more... It makes me think that in general, we all need to look out for each other. You never know what people are feeling... You never know what people are feeling insecure about and what kind of help and love they need. This is a wake up call. Please be kind to one another. We are in this together. Life is crazy... We need to wrap our arms around each other. I’m heartbroken over @thecherryvalentine — such a stunning girl... Such a beautiful talent... And such a loving and giving soul. I hope all of us in the drag community can learn from this... We need to support each other, and we need to be gentle. Sending all my love out to Cherry’s friends and family. My heart is broken.
