Say hello to Senator #PattyMurray, who’s second in line for the presidency (for now) while the House of Representatives continues its process to elect a Speaker. Once there’s a person in that role, she’ll move to third in line.⁠ ⁠ Why is Murray so high up? She was recently sworn in as president pro tempore, a Senate leadership position that traditionally goes to the longest-serving member of the majority party.
