Chickpea Truffles! Who would have thought that blending a can of chickpeas with melted dark chocolate and nut butter could result in such a decadent treat that incorporates fiber and antioxidants?! 😋 Recipe from @lovelydelites.
The majority of adults in the U.S. consume only 50% of the daily recommended amount of fiber. Daily fiber recommendation for women is ~25g/ day and for men ~38g/ day.
Increasing fiber intake can help lower cholesterol, stabilize blood glucose, decrease risk of diabetes, decrease risk of colon cancer, increase satiety, and regulate bowel habits.
Fiber may also benefit our mental health. Research has found an association between higher fiber consumption and lower odds of depression.
