🏔 Gjalerhorn 🏔 🇬🇧 While social media have certainly helped us in gaining visibility as photographers, I fear they also represent a bit threat to landscape photography. Landscape photography should be also about discovering new places and compositions. Too often we travel hundreds of km just to take THAT iconic shot. Don’t get me wrong, I love “tre cime di Lavaredo” and similar, I will go there, but I’d also like to become better in getting out of the photography comfort zone and discover new places. With this in mind I went on a hike in the Swiss alps and I was rewarded with this epic landscape, which I’ve never seen before on social media. Is it better then the most known places in Dolomiti? Probably not. Was it difficult to find a composition? It took me forever. it worth it? Definitely!! For once I can feel that this is MY shot. 🇮🇹 i social media hanno dato grande visibilità a noi fotografi e per questo dobbiamo esserne grati. Purtroppo però alcune volte penso che rappresentino un freno per la fotografia di paesaggio. Quante volte abbiamo fatto centinaia di km per poi (ri)fare una foto precisa di una montagna o una valle? Non fraintendetemi, adoro ad esempio “le cime di lavaredo” e ci andrò al più presto, ma più faccio foto più mi rendo conto che ho bisogno di altro e di uscire dalla comfort zone del paesaggio bellissimo ma stra fotografato. Questa tarda primavera sono andato nelle Alpi Svizzere, che mi hanno premiato con questa fantastica vista, mai vista prima sui social. È meglio delle Dolomiti? Probabilmente no. È stato difficile? Moltissimo. Ne è valsa la pena?
