In Isamu Noguchi’s former studio in Long Island City, Queens, in August 2021, FUTURA2000 (@futuradosmil) hand-painted a limited edition series of Akari 1A light sculptures and Akari prints. The series of 25 Akari 1A light sculptures with surface designs by Isamu Noguchi – screenprinted in yellow, orange, red, green, and grey colorways – features spray-painted hand embellishments by FUTURA2000. The Akari print series is a monoprint edition of 99 paintings on screenprints of surface designs for the Akari 1A. The Akari prints are screenprinted in Japan on washi paper. Each print features hand-painted elements by FUTURA2000 and his signature. Each lamp and print is unique. Proceeds from this sale directly support The Noguchi Museum and its programming.
