The Heliacal Rising of Sothis is a project dedicated to the legacy and teaching of Bro. Phil Cohran “multi-instrumentalist, composer, leader, co-founder of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), and teacher” whose unique philosophy brought together music, astronomy, herbalism, mathematics, cultural theory, and history. Adam Zanolini studied with Bro. Phil for several years, and his teachings inspired a number of compositions. A band of extraordinary musicians, (including several AACM members) will interpret these compositions.
