Video from @chrisburkard Waves of heat pulsating from the center of the eruption and dissipating across the spidery veins of lava make you realize the raw power of the volcano. I had to keep my drone at a safe distance to prevent it from melting to capture this... sometimes lava can reach up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit making it unbearable to approach closely. Fortunately the Meradalir eruption is relatively safe for visitors to see, allowing me to study the inferno closely.
