I didn’t post on social media in August. I didn’t make a single reel or a tiktok. I didn’t wear makeup. I read books and got lost in their pages. I wrote vicious stories. I took my dog for walks in the sunshine. I went to a different country. I held my spouse’s hand and remembered how far we’ve come. I let go. I found joy again. I set new boundaries. I pressed the reset button and exhaled for the first time in 2 years. Then, I gathered my fears, my insecurities, and my pains in my arms, took them to a canyon of the grandest nature and tossed them over a cliff to be carried away by the wind. I have learned so much, about who I am, who I am not, who I want to be, and who I never want to be. I have celebrated my strengths, and acknowledged my weaknesses, and there’s so much peace to be found in that. I’m 29. I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve got so much more to learn, so much more to do, so much more to say.
