What does it mean to be in the company of someone or something? Sometimes it means a quiet interaction, just contemplating or being side to side with not much said. Other times it means to work together, talk and laugh or even argue. To be in the company of art means to surround yourself with objects you enjoy whenever you encounter them. They are embedded with the artist's ideas, energy, successes, and struggles, which sometimes can mirror yours. For me, being in the company of artists has meant a new life, new horizons open, full of hope and enthusiasm. Getting to know artists and their work, observing them creating work online and in real life, visiting them in their studios, going out to see art together, breaking bread, and knowing that appreciation and support go both ways, are all part of this wonderful new path I call my practice. 'In the Company of Women: At Large' has derived from all these experiences and hopes. It has been wonderful to work with this group of artists and the @lns_galery team to come up with the exhibition that is now on view. We would love to be in your company too!
