I lived in BK for 6 years and will find any opportunity to go there! So when I found out @leafleggirl had never been, I was shooketh. She got a crafty, quirky, punk rock tour of Williamsburg and Bushwick from yours truly, a second generation Bronx & Brooklyn baddie who now unfortunately lives outside of the 5 boros 😭 We started the day at the @artgurl__ swap & scrap event at @inthecraftnook at @haricotvert. It’s always the best time at an art gurl event! Earlier in the day, we ran into @theenchanteddesk —at the Old Friend Photobooth—who was also going to the art gurl workshop. After a joyous afternoon of junk journaling, swapping stationery & stickers with new friends, and making charms, the adventure continued! After meeting up with my friend @searlzd for lunch at @thebutchersdaughter_official (a fantastic vegetarian restaurant), we bopped around shopping at @driggsmercantile, @spoonbillbooks and @lockwoodshop—some of my FAVE shops in billyburg. The evening commenced with a trip to my old stomping grounds: Bushwick! We had some cocktails & obv checked out the photobooth at @pineboxrockshop. Plus I took Jackie to two of my fave shops in the area: @friendsnyc & @otherpeoplesclothes.shop. Then I forced her to come see my first ever apartment and where my dad grew up. She wanted to kill me for making her walk so much but it’s fine. I had so much fun showing my bestie around my former neighborhood & taking a stroll down memory lane. I can’t wait to go back! We have so many more places we want to go together. Part of the fun of owning a small biz with my long distance best friend is having an excuse to turn local adventures into business & creative opportunities! Plus socializing, exploring, aaaaand shopping.
