Capital STEEZ passed a decade ago today, leaving behind some of the highest potential and boldest mind-frames modern day rap has seen yet ⭐️ in some ways, you had to have been there to understand, there as in those few special concerts where he graced the stage, on the internet keeping with the beast coast movement from a far, in those New York City classrooms where all us kids were watching our peers go from students like us to stars damn overnight, all of it was so distinctive, so real to think it’s been a decade since the one world lost one if it’s brightest young stars does not feel real, it’s never felt real no matter the years passing, it’ll likely never feel real he was real, he is someone who will live forever for those that knew then or have gotten to know since, I will always carry with me those memories from this time as I continue my own life’s journey, remembering STEEZ for all he was/is I’d like to think had he been here over the last decade he would have made music with everyone from Da$h to Soul to Mac to JID to Zel to Zilla and so on, he would have driven the genre forward in such tangible ways, ways few have done since or before as long as I have any sort of platform no matter the size, audience or point in life, this time of year will always have some STEEZ in it, I wish you all a safe and warm holiday with whoever you spend it with, and as always, #longlivesteelo ♾️
