I think the likes of Loretta Lynn will never be seen again, on this side of the veil. She perfectly illustrated a life so many could relate to. Real, authentic, music from the soil up, coursing through her veins. Country music-both writing and singing it- wasn’t a deliberate lifestyle that she decided on one day. She didn’t wake up one day and decide to go to town and by a hat and a j-45. She didn’t have to work on making her accent more southern. Her daddy didn’t have the money to send her to Belmont while she worked the social circles along Music Row. When she wrote, she didn’t have to enter into a make-believe world. Her songs were pure and true and as steady as a morning train cuttin’ through fresh Kentucky dew. Loretta was no doubt the undisputed Queen of Country Music. And there’s a really simple answer as to how she, an unlikely, small town Kentucky girl ascended to that thrown- Loretta was real. Blessings.... mEf
