The Reception 🕊️
One of my favorite things that we made a priority was actually getting to enjoy our cocktail hour! We did most of our photos prior to the ceremony and only a few minutes of shooting in the car after.
We had Aperol Spritz’s, margaritas and espresso martinis flowing, a massive charcuterie board along with the most incredible pinsas (pizza but Roman style) that I still dream about. The flour for the dough was imported from Italy and all of the ingredients were from local farms. The food was very important to us 😋
My mother-in-law also pulled off a massive surprise for us which was synchronized swimmers! Still can’t get over that this happened and that our planner Carley made it happen in less than 24 hours 👏🏼
Few tips
- actually eat your food! I made it my mission to taste everything and I barely got up during dinner. I sat there and ate the whole meal...kerry did not 😂
- not drinking TOO much really was a decision I was happy about. I wanted to be able to remember the night.
- even if you’re terrified like I was, make a short toast to your families and partner. Kerry and I both decided we would speak and I’m really happy that I did.
- make a point to find your partner throughout the night. it’s so easy to get pulled in different directions and not see each other
- first dance lessons were a total game changer! We had no idea what we were doing prior to our lessons (only did two) and it was the most helpful. We just wanted to be able to go up there and enjoy the moment instead of being nervous about what we were going to do.
- it’s okay if you don’t get around to saying hi to everyone! It’s the most overwhelming and exhausting day and just take that pressure off of yourself.
- photo booths are a total hit! 📸
