I used to enjoy @jimgaffigan quite a bit. My wife and I saw him like back in #STL. He was relatively clean and funny. I found a way to sympathize with him, as I was obese, and numbed my feelings with food.
.
What I find troubling about this clip, is that after he has his daughter read the word obese, he says “I ran into the kitchen and stuffed food in my mouth until I stopped feeling anything”. This is way to common in our society. We aren’t getting a specific need met so we go to our favorite junk foods that give us a sense of love or nurturing that we are missing.
.
Most of society, especially #men, won’t open up and speak their needs. They won’t tell their partner, family, friends, that they need some love and care in a different way. Our #ego is running the show, and we aren’t dropping into our body’s, so that we can find out what need is not being met.
.
Stop eating your feelings! Stop expecting the closest people in your circle to read your mind, and give you what your missing! More importantly stop looking for #love, #validation, #worth in the opinions of other people! Start loving yourself, setting boundaries, meeting your own needs, work through your emotions, give yourself permission to be who you are without judgment of yourself!
.
If you want real change, and real love to be in your life, it starts with the person in the mirror. If your ready for change, and authentic love in your life, reach out. I’m looking to help you cultivate that in your life. Not just because it’s important for you, it’s important for those around you. When you work on yourself, you positively impact others around you, just by becoming the best version of yourself!
