Super stoked to write about the home zone for @surfline 🌊💙 Being from Hawai’i I know it can be a touchy subject, but unfortunately we can’t stop people from coming. However I believe we can do our best to educate and direct people to appropriate spots. At the end of the day I don’t believe there is a sustainable way to travel to Hawai’i. With limited resources and a water contamination crisis we are barely able to keep the locals supported. It’s become very clear that tourists are prioritized by our government and locals are treated as second class. If you do choose to visit Hawai’i please tread lightly and respectfully. Realize that our systems are very much stressed as it is. While you’re here make it a priority to support small, support local, volunteer, pick up trash and educate yourself about the History of Hawai’i.
