Artist Statement: 'Aftercare is a series of large scale photographs and video exploring our relationship to wellness and self-care through an emotional and psychological context, portrayed as a physical embodiment. Utilising the ideologies behind the self care and wellness movement, I photograph myself enacting with layers of pink bubble wrap, cocooning and containing the body within a protective and cushioning shield of bright pink plastic air pockets. These bodily coverings mirror aftercare methods used on physical wounds and muscular injuries, with the work ultimately posing the question of what would aftercare to a mental health or emotional injury look like?'
