I’m pleased to announce my first international solo exhibition in Turin, Italy titled “Traveling Mercies” with @lucegallery Traveling Mercies are prayers that are made for someone undergoing a big journey. For this exhibition I wanted to touch base on the research I have been conducting for the past year surrounding the history of travel & how people of the African Diaspora began to travel after slavery. My research on travel started over a year ago when my art work started to travel the world before me. I felt this would be a perfect body of work to exhibit as I was embarking on my largest journey yet; traveling outside of the US for the first time. Most importantly I wanted to shed light on the unsung heroes who made travel from planes to boats possible for my people.
