This month, @camari_mick hosted her annual Follow Your Roots dinner in celebration of Black History Month - this year at the iconic @gramercytavern. Each of the seven courses was created by a renowned Black chef hailing from a region along the Diaspora, showcasing their talents and signature culinary styles through one singular ingredient each course – selected by culinary historian Thèrese Nelson (@blackculinary) for their history and importance in the African ancestral foodways. A portion of the proceeds were donated to National Black Food & Justice Alliance (@blackfoodjustice), a nonprofit aimed at developing Black leadership and supporting Black communities.
