More than 3 million Americans were displaced from their homes by natural disasters in 2022, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Florida was affected the most, with almost 1 million people—nearly 7% of its population—displaced. Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida in late September and Hurricane Nicole hit the state in November.
